NSW School Holidays Terms
This is the list of the NSW school holidays for 2025. Each term break typically has between 15-17 days, or a little over 2 weeks.
NSW School Holidays 2025 Term 1 (Autumn)
The Term 1 break typically starts with the Good Friday public holiday and ends around/slightly before Anzac Day, so that makes for a good opportunity to observe these holidays.
Since the holidays also happen during autumn, it’s a good time to go out and enjoy the cool weather before the NSW winter makes summer activities like swimming and surfing too uncomfortable.

NSW School Holidays 2025 Term 2 (Winter)
The Term 2 School holidays in NSW can get cold, though not as cold as other places in the country.
However, NSW does have some of Australia’s best ski resorts, so for those who love winter sports, there are excellent opportunities for skiing and snowboarding.
For those who aren’t a fan of winter sports, NSW has so many other options for indoor activities, like museums, concerts, galleries, indoor sports and so much more!

The Term 3 holiday lines up with NSW’s Labour Day holiday and the progression into spring and the warming of the weather.
NSW starts to warm up quickly in the spring, making outdoor activities a good option for this school holiday, so the Term 3 holiday is a great time to enjoy NSW’s many activities.

NSW School Holidays 2025 Term 4 (Summer)
As this term holiday includes Christmas, New Year’s and Australia Day, there’s a lot of good public holiday activities and great opportunities to enjoy them!
It’s also summer in NSW, which can get pretty hot, so some good outdoor activities at one of NSW’s many beaches are sure to be a blast!
