This is the page of the NT school holidays for 2024. NT term breaks are usually longer in the summer and winter while being shorter in spring and fall.

The fall break only lasts about 1 week and the spring break lasts 10 days. Meanwhile the summer break is almost 1 month and the winter break is nearly a month and a half.

NT School Holidays 2024 Term 1 (Autumn)

The Term 1 break is 1 week, typically the second week in April. As a result, it coincides with Good Friday and Easter a lot, but not all of the time.

Since this is NT’s autumn, it’s still mostly hot and humid in most of the state, so indoor activities will likely be more comfortable. 

NT has some beautiful museums and memorials to make this 1-week break nice and relaxing!

NT School Holidays 2024 Term 2 (Winter)

The Term 2 School holidays are a special time in the NT. It’s the state’s dry season and there are public holidays all through July for NT’s different agricultural shows.

This 3-4 week long holiday is an amazing time for camping and traveling all through the state! See some of the country’s most beautiful landscapes and visit the shows!

NT School Holidays 2024 Term 3 (Spring)

The Term 3 holiday lasts for around 10 days and marks the transition from the NT’s dry winter to its wet summer.

This is a good opportunity to do some camping or road trips out into nature with the last of the dry weather. Enjoy some of the many beautiful nature parks the state has to offer!

NT School Holidays 2024 Term 4 (Summer)

As this term holiday includes Christmas, New Year’s and Australia Day, there’s a lot of good public holiday activities and great opportunities to enjoy them!

It’s also summer in NT, which is a time of high heat and high humidity. As a result, many holiday activities take place indoors or late in the afternoon, so it’s a great time to go out and have fun!

And if you don’t mind a little humidity, the wildlife and sceneries out in the nature parks come alive in the summer, providing views you won’t see anywhere else!
